We’ve been living full time on our 60′ narrowboat since 2018. Originally from Australia, we moved to the UK on Christmas Day 2014 to experience life in the northern hemisphere.

And to pre-emptively answer the most-asked question, we moved from Australia to the UK because we’d had enough of the heat and the sun!

About Maggie

I’m a bit of a dreamer and most certainly an optimist. My passions include writing fantasy novels, reading fantasy novels (and historical romances too, I’ll admit it), musical theatre, singing, playing video games and watching anime. Yep, I’m a nerd and proud of it!

I’m a qualified chef, but prefer to use my talents for technology rather than any culinary skills I may have!

My Proudest Achievement: self-publishing my novels and the Winter Warmers physical cookbook for Narrowboat Chef.

We adopted Pixel in December of 2018 when she was just under a year old. She’s an adorable, bouncy, happy fox terrier who’s taken to life aboard the narrowboat like a duck to water! She loves standing on the stern while we cruise along, watching the scenery go by, and checking out the new smells at each mooring spot we stop at.

She is the star of our videos on our Narrowboat Chef YouTube channel and knows it!

Her Proudest Achievement: “Woof woof, arf!” (translation: Having thousands of adoring fans!)
